Dear Actionmarguerite St. Boniface Residents and Families,

We are writing to share with you that both DE elevators at Actionmarguerite St. Boniface are currently out of service for urgent repairs. At this time, we have been advised that the earliest possible we can anticipate the elevators being back in service is Friday.

We want to reassure you that we have put our contingency plans in place to manage this situation. For medical emergencies and medically urgent appointments that cannot be deferred, we are working with “Patient Transport Services” to ensure we are able to safely transport residents who require assistance.

We are asking for your understanding during this time. Your assistance is requested in ensuring residents, staff and visitors remain safe.

Specifically, we are asking for your assistance with the following:

  • Consider if you are able to use the stairs for your visit. Visitors coming to visit residents living in the DE tower will need to use the stairs. If you are unable to use the stairs, we ask that you defer your visit at this time. We will appoint a staff member to open the stairwell doors for you and escort you to the relevant unit.
  • Nursing staff will be in touch with families whose loved ones have outside appointments that are able to be rescheduled, to please do so.
  • Plan your visits to either ensure you are upstairs before the meal service and be prepared to stay until it is over; or, if at all possible, kindly avoid the following times:
        • Breakfast: 0700-0900
        • Lunch: 1100-1300
        • Dinner: 1600-1800

Your cooperation with this request will help us keep everyone safe during the meal service delivery and clean up. Staff will be carrying hot food up and containers and utensils back down the stairs for each meal service. As we are able, we will aim to accommodate you during these times, however you may be asked to wait for the stairwell to be clear.

Should you have any questions, please write to info@actionmarguerite.ca.

Thank you for your cooperation as we work on these repairs.

Sincerely,

The Actionmarguerite Team
