Programs

We provide a remarkable range of programs and services – personal care homes, supportive housing, dementia care, complex care for younger adults and the adult day program – to help meet the needs of a wide range of people in the community.

Personal Care Home Program

A personal care home (PCH) is for people requiring 24-hour nursing care who can no longer manage in their own homes with family and/or community support. Actionmarguerite homes are accredited and committed to providing the best possible care to all our residents.

Actionmarguerite offers a number of personal care home beds: at 450 River Road in St. Vital, we have a total of 115 private rooms in a francophone milieu. At 185 Despins Street in St. Boniface, over 150 private rooms and a few shared double rooms are available for personal care needs in a bilingual setting. At 1149 Leila Avenue in the Maples area, we offer a unique and multicultural environment with 100 private rooms.

Our residents have access to specialized health professionals and services without having to leave the home. Housekeeping, nutritional, recreational and spiritual services are also provided on-site.

We strive to provide services to our residents in a home-like environment. Read more about the Services and specialized health care offered by Actionmarguerite.

Dementia Care

Actionmarguerite operates three specialized care units designed to provide a secure, safe and caring home-like environment for individuals suffering from dementia.

A specialized unit with close to 40 beds is located at Actionmarguerite in St. Vital at 450 River Road. Another 80+ beds are dedicated to a specialized unit and regional behavioural unit at Actionmarguerite in St. Boniface at 185 Despins Street. All units have secure access, and staff receives uniquely designed training to ensure each resident is agreeably and respectfully cared for.

Complex Care For Younger Adults

The Complex Care for Younger Adults Program is a specialized program for individuals less than 60 years of age who require substantial assistance in daily living. They have acquired brain injuries and complex health needs that require personal care home services. Our dedicated unit has over 40 beds at 185 Despins Street in St. Boniface and offers a safe and unique environment.

Our staff provide residents with age-appropriate programs, services and recreational activities, encouraging them to take part in their own care decisions and keeping them active by participating in community events. Candidates must meet specific conditions in order to be eligible for the program.

Supportive Housing

Actionmarguerite operates two supportive housing programs for people who require access to 24-hour supervision and some assistance managing their physical limitations or their ongoing health conditions, such as early dementia.

The units at Chez-Nous (187 de la Cathédrale Avenue) and at Windsor Park Place (875 Elizabeth Road) provide 24-hour supervision and on-site support for many aspects of daily living. Residents receive assistance with bathing, dressing, meals, laundry, and housekeeping. We also help them with reminders and with scheduled activities.
