Dear Residents and Families,

Warmer weather is most welcome after these long winter months. We trust that you are finding ways to enjoy this change in weather. We wanted to take this opportunity in today’s update to honour Mother’s Day. May we all have meaningful moments to acknowledge the women in our lives and the many ways they share their gifts and talents in this world.

We are living another Mother’s Day with limitations to visits at Actionmarguerite because of ongoing outbreaks. An additional outbreak has been declared at Actionmarguerite St. Vital which brings the suspension of general visits to all residents living here. This really is not where we wanted to be and yet the reality is that we are still responding to the presence of COVID-19. Please see the outbreak status below for information regarding outbreaks and visitation.

If you are able to visit, we call upon everyone to remain vigilant so that we can protect one another. Please remember to maintain your mask and eye protection during the entirety of your visit and to wash your hands thoroughly and frequently. These are acts of compassion that can go a long way to doing all that we can to prevent the spread of COVID-19. You are invited to view the videos as a refresher on the use of personal protective equipment, especially if you are a designated family caregiver (essential visitor) visiting on an outbreak unit:

  • As we endeavour to contain the spread, we ask that only designated family caregivers who are providing essential care, such as assisting at mealtime, be present. To limit everyone’s exposure to the virus, designated family caregivers are asked to limit their time at Actionmarguerite. You may also be asked to assist another resident with their meal if we are working short. If you are willing to assist another resident, please let one of our nurses know. We will re-evaluate this measure as the outbreak continues.

There are currently eight (8) staff who are positive and are currently isolating. We wish everyone a full and speedy recovery.
