The parainfluenza outbreak at Actionmarguerite Saint-Vital is not over yet but controlled. Three (3) residents in total tested positive but many had symptoms and are still on precautions.
Please be advised of the changes to restrictions for all of Actionmarguerite Saint-Vital:
- Effective Monday, November 29th, Essential / Designated visitors will be able to resume visits.
- In-room and visitation shelter visits by General visitors continue to be suspended until further notice. In the interim, general visitors are welcome to contact our recreation team at (204) 254-9357 or reservationsv@actionmarguerite.ca to arrange a virtual visit with their loved ones.
- Exceptions to visit restrictions for General visitors will be made in end-of-life situations.
We will issue another email once visiting restrictions can be lifted. This will depend on how the outbreak progresses and when it can be declared over.
The following measures remain in place:
- Increased monitoring of all residents for symptoms.
- Precautions to enforce distancing (i.e., changes to dining and cancellation of resident group programming).
- Movement of residents is still limited to their unit, as much as possible.
- Cleaning of high touch surfaces, common areas and residents’ rooms has been enhanced.
- Religious services and entertainment have moved from in-person to virtual.
- Short stay absences and social leaves are still suspended with exceptions for medical appointments.
- Hairdressing services are still cancelled until further notice.
We thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Please email info@actionmarguerite.ca if you have any questions or concerns.
