Dear Actionmarguerite St. Boniface Residents and Families,
We are writing to share with you that we are needing to proceed with a shutdown of the steam plant at Actionmarguerite St. Boniface (185 Despins Street). The work is planned for this evening, Tuesday, April 2, to minimize disruptions. This planned shutdown is required to perform necessary repairs to a steam pipe that supplies steam to our building.
The shutdown will interrupt any system that is supplied by steam, including:
- heating the building;
- domestic hot water; and
- some kitchen appliances, such as the dishwasher and kettles.
We anticipate that the work will be complete by early Wednesday morning. In the event that the shutdown is extended, we want to reassure you that we have put contingency plans in place to navigate this situation. For instance, we have plans to care for residents should the building cool down, we have adjusted our menus to ensure there is no disruption to our meal service, we will switch to disposable dishes and utensils, and we will adjust routines requiring domestic hot water through the evening and night.
We will monitor the situation closely and will keep you informed of further developments.
As always, should you have any questions, please write to info@actionmarguerite.ca.
Thank you in advance for your patience and collaboration!
Sincerely,
Micheline St-Hilaire
