Dear Actionmarguerite Families,

 COVID-19 Update #6 – January 8, 2022

Actionmarguerite St. Boniface, Actionmarguerite St. Joseph, Actionmarguerite St. Vital

 We heard from families at our virtual family forums on Thursday, how important it is to keep you informed. Unfortunately, we have been made aware of additional residents who have tested positive for COVID-19 on other units. The update is below:

Outbreak status

Actionmarguerite St. Boniface

  • A resident on 3ABC has tested positive for COVID-19, bringing our total to 4 floors with declared outbreaks* (2ABC, 3ABC, 4ABC, and 5ABC)
  • An additional resident on 4C has tested positive
  • A total of 26 residents are COVID positive
  • An additional six (6) staff have tested positive for a total of 46 (28 of these employees have since recovered)

Actionmarguerite St. Vital

  • A resident on the 2nd floor has tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the total units with declared outbreaks to 2 (2nd floor and 3rd floor)
  • An additional resident on the 3rd floor has tested positive
  • A total of 16 residents have tested positive
  • An additional staff member has tested positive, for a total of 13 staff who have tested positive (6 of these employees have since recovered)

Actionmarguerite St. Joseph – no change

  • 1 unit has a declared outbreak (1st floor)
  • No additional residents have tested positive; the total of COVID positive residents remains at two (2).
  • 7 staff have tested positive since the outbreak began (3 of these employees have since recovered)

*N.B. For an outbreak to be declared there must be two cases that are linked together. This can include any combination of staff, visitors, and residents.

We have been in communication with the primary contacts of the affected residents. It is important to note that residents with COVID-19 continue to have milder symptoms and are stable.
