Actionmarguerite | COVID-19 Update #36

Dear Residents and Families,

Many people express how they currently know several people in their lives who have contracted COVID-19. Evidently, the virus continues to circulate in our community, especially given the highly contagious Omicron variant. We at Actionmarguerite, have not been spared. We are seeing a resurgence of outbreaks here and in other long-term care settings in Winnipeg.

Last evening, we learned that two (2) residents living on the east wing of 1st floor (Rooms 1105-1118) at Actionmarguerite St. Vital tested positive for COVID-19. An outbreak has been declared for this wing. Out of precaution, the following adjustments have been made to visits. These measures will be reassessed in a week’s time:

No additional residents have tested positive for COVID-19.

  • General visits are suspended on 3ABC.
  • Designated family caregivers (essential visitors) are welcome to visit 3ABC at their own risk and are asked to wear the personal protective equipment provided during the entirety of their visit.

There are currently eleven (11) staff at Actionmarguerite St. Boniface who are positive and are currently isolating.

 

Actionmarguerite St. Vital

Two (2) residents living on the east wing of the 1st floor (Rooms 1105-1118) have tested positive for COVID-19.

Adjustments to visits will be as follows.  These measures will be reassessed in a week’s time:

  • General visits are suspended at Actionmarguerite St. Joseph (Unit 1 & Unit 2).
  • Designated family caregivers (essential visitors) are welcome to visit Unit 1 & 2 at their own risk and are asked to wear the personal protective equipment provided during the entirety of their visit.
  • As we endeavour to contain the spread, we ask that only designated family caregivers who are providing essential care, such as assisting at mealtime, be present. To limit everyone’s exposure to the virus, designated family caregivers are asked to limit their time at Actionmarguerite. You may also be asked to assist another resident with their meal if we are working short. If you are willing to assist another resident, please let one of our nurses know. We will re-evaluate this measure as the outbreak continues.

There are currently sixteen (16) staff who are positive and are currently isolating. We wish everyone a full and speedy recovery.
