Actionmarguerite | COVID-19 Update #35

Dear Residents and Families,

In today’s update, we are saddened to announce that three (3) deaths occurred over the weekend linked to our current outbreaks; one (1) at Actionmarguerite St. Boniface and two (2) at Actionmarguerite St. Joseph. Our sincere condolences have been offered to the families as they grieve their loved ones.

An outbreak has also been declared on Unit 1 at Actionmarguerite St. Joseph. All general visits to Actionmarguerite St. Joseph (Unit 1 & Unit 2) have been suspended. Please read on to know more…

Outbreak Status

Actionmarguerite St. Boniface

  • Our current outbreak is on 3ABC.
  • Nine (9) residents have been deemed recovered.
  • An additional resident has tested positive for a total of twelve (12) active cases.
  • General visits are suspended on 3ABC.
  • Designated family caregivers (essential visitors) are welcome to visit 3ABC at their own risk and are asked to wear the personal protective equipment provided during the entirety of their visit.

There are currently nine (9) staff at Actionmarguerite St. Boniface who are positive and are currently isolating.

 

Actionmarguerite St. Joseph

  • Outbreaks have been declared on Unit 1 (new) and Unit 2.
  • Three (3) deaths have been linked to the outbreaks.
  • Ten (10) additional residents have tested positive for a total of forty-four (44) active cases.
  • General visits are suspended at Actionmarguerite St. Joseph (Unit 1 & Unit 2).
  • Designated family caregivers (essential visitors) are welcome to visit Unit 1 & 2 at their own risk and are asked to wear the personal protective equipment provided during the entirety of their visit.
  • As we endeavour to contain the spread, we ask that only designated family caregivers who are providing essential care, such as assisting at mealtime, be present. To limit everyone’s exposure to the virus, designated family caregivers are asked to limit their time at Actionmarguerite. You may also be asked to assist another resident with their meal if we are working short. If you are willing to assist another resident, please let one of our nurses know. We will re-evaluate this measure as the outbreak continues.

There are currently sixteen (16) staff who are positive and are currently isolating. We wish everyone a full and speedy recovery.
