Dear Residents and Families,

We have learned that sixteen (16) residents at Actionmarguerite St. Joseph have tested positive for COVID-19 on Unit 2. An outbreak has been declared on this unit. In addition, we are saddened to announce that one resident has passed away from COVID-19.  Our sympathy goes out to the family and loved ones of this resident.

Outbreak protocols have been put into effect and we are collaborating closely with the WRHA Infection Prevention and Control Team to address our needs. We will continue to monitor all residents for signs and symptoms and reach out to families should their loved one’s condition change.

Effective immediately:

  • General Visits will be suspended for residents living on Unit 2.
  • Essential visitors to Unit 2 are welcome to visit at their own risk. Personal protective equipment will be provided and must be worn during your visit.
  • As we endeavour to contain the spread, we ask that only designated family caregivers who are providing essential care, such as assisting at mealtime, be present. To limit everyone’s exposure to the virus, designated family caregivers are asked to limit their time at Actionmarguerite. You may also be asked to assist another resident with their meal if we are working short. If you are willing to assist another resident, please let one of our nurses know. We will re-evaluate this measure on Monday, May 2, 2022.

There are currently eight (8) staff at Actionmarguerite St. Joseph who have tested positive and our currently isolating. We wish everyone a full and speedy recovery.

We recognize how frustrating and disappointing this is to residents, families, and staff.  Our goal remains to keep everyone safe. We thank you for your patience, understanding and cooperation.

If you have any questions or concerns, please email info@actionmarguerite.ca.

With regards,

Micheline St-Hilaire, Chief Executive Officer and the entire Actionmarguerite Team
