Designated Family Caregivers

Family presence at Actionmarguerite has always been and remains a priority. Designated family caregivers (essential visitors) are essential partners in care. A designated family caregiver provides assistance with feeding, mobility, personal hygiene, cognitive stimulation, communication, meaningful connection, relational continuity, and assistance in decision-making. Recognizing the importance of family presence balanced with the safety of residents, staff and families, Actionmarguerite has put in place measures to reintegrate designated family caregivers while our homes continue to be in active COVID-19 outbreaks. On Friday, January 14th, we started the reintegration of one designated family caregiver per resident.  We are asking family members who wish to provide assistance to their loved one to send their name to our Social Work team. You will be asked to take part in a Safe Visitation Orientation – available in-person or online – to ensure that you are aware of the measures in place during an outbreak and understand that you enter at your own risk. Please send an email to:

We wish everyone well,

Micheline St-Hilaire, Chief Executive Officer & the entire Actionmarguerite Team
