The Housekeeping Aide is responsible for the delivery of Housekeeping Services where applicable, by performing a variety of environmental activities, according to standards, to ensure a clean and safe environment that supports resident focused care, and other related functions. The Laundry Aide is responsible for sorting, laundering and distribution of residents’ personal clothes and linen. They are also responsible for carrying out the work procedures according to the Laundry standards and applicable work routine.

Pay Scale: As per CUPE Collective Agreement

Required Qualifications
Education:
- Grade X.
Experience:
- Directly related experience in a long term / chronic care facility an asset;
- Working knowledge of washing machines and other related equipment; and
- Previous housekeeping experience, an asset.
Abilities and Skills:
- Ability to communicate in English is required;
- Demonstrated interpersonal relationship and communication skills with residents’ families and co-workers;
- Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision;
- Demonstrated ability to follow verbal and written instructions;
- Flexible and capable of adapting to change;
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in courteous manner;
- Mental and physical health to meet the requirements of the job;
- Ability to organize and establish priorities regarding workload;
- Ability to demonstrate a satisfactory employment record, including attendance; and
- Current Criminal Record Check for the Vulnerable Sector and Adult Abuse Registry Check deemed satisfactory by the Employer.

All staff are hired for the facility. Employees may hold more than one position in diefferent Actionmarguerite facilities, where the sum total of hours does not exceed 1.0 full-time equivalence.
