Dear Actionmarguerite Residents & Families,
As we enter the respiratory illness season, we want to remind everyone of the updated outbreak management protocols that came into effect on July 1, 2025. These changes were made to better protect the physical, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing of residents while minimizing unnecessary restrictions.
Why This Matters Now
Respiratory illnesses such as the flu, common cold, and COVID-19 tend to circulate more widely during the fall and winter months. Many people living at Actionmarguerite remain among the most vulnerable to these infections, and we must work together to reduce the risk of outbreaks.
What You Need to Know
To support this effort, we are implementing additional restrictions on movement within the building during outbreak periods where there are higher risks identified. These measures are temporary and will be tailored to the specific illness and situation.
Key Updates & Recommendations:
- Limiting Movement: During outbreaks, residents and families may be asked to visit in designated areas.
- Check Outbreak Status: Please view our website before your visit to ensure you are aware of the current outbreak status. The outbreak table is updated immediately when a new outbreak is declared, and routinely every Thursday by 6 p.m. You can view the outbreak table here.
- Prevention First: Continue practicing handwashing, following cough etiquette, staying home when sick, and keeping vaccinations up to date. Masks will remain available.
To learn more about these changes, please refer to our information sheet here.
We appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we navigate this season together. Your support helps us maintain a safe and healthy environment for all.
Thank you for being a valued partner in care.
Warm regards,
The Actionmarguerite Team
