The Groundskeeper and Maintenance Helper is responsible for performing required maintenance of the building, equipment and grounds, including assigned preventative maintenance duties on equipment, completing on going work requisitions and other related functions. This person has a keen eye for outdoor spaces and plays an important role in creating and maintaining outdoor spaces that are appealing, beautiful and safe. The incumbent provides service to all Actionmarguerite sites and applicable service contracts.

Shift and Hours of Work: Casual-term-currently 07:30-15:45
Pay Scale: As per CUPE Collective Agreement
Specifications: Term ending October 30, 2026. Assignment and hours of work are subject to change at any time as per operational requirements.

Required Qualifications
Education and Experience:
• Grade 12 or equivalent;
• A valid driver’s licence is required;
• Certification and experience in related trades a definite asset (for example, electrical, plumbing, painting, refrigeration, carpentry, HVAC, grounds keeping and landscaping).
• Three years of experience, preferably in a related setting (health care, long term care);
• Previous experience using a tractor; and
• Experience and/or education in the use of personal computers and Microsoft Ofiice products such as Outlook, Word.
Abilities and Skills:
• Ability to communicate in both official languages (French and English) is required;
• Must be mechanically inclined, motivated and able to work as an individual with minimal supervision or as a team member;
• Must be able to work autonomously, be flexible and capable of adapting to change;
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs;
• Must be in good mental and physical health to meet the requirements of the job;
• Initiative and judgment to organize and maintain flow of work and accuracy of records;
• Ability to communicate effectively;
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions;
• Must be able to perform any other related duties;
• Demonstrated ability to maintain a satisfactory employment record, including attendance; and
• Current Criminal Record Check for the Vulnerable sector and Adult Abuse Registry Check deemed satisfactory by the Employer.
