As a team member, the Lead Hand of Housekeeping and Laundry provides quality service by ensuring day to day functions associated with cleaning, laundry, linen and supply distribution. In conjunction with the Manager, assists with the distribution of workload within the service area and is responsible for the receipt and delivery of supplies. Also performs functions related to the maintenance of floors and cleaning in assigned areas by performing a variety of environmental activities, according to standards and applicable work routines. Service: Housekeeping and Laundry Services
Starting Date: August 9, 2026
Shift and Hours of Work: 0.3 FTE-part-time-term-days, currently 07:15-15:30
Pay Scale: As per CUPE Collective Agreement
Specifications: Term ending February 12, 2027 with 2 weeks’ notice and possibility of extension. Assignment and hours of work are subject to change at any time as per operational requirements.

Required Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • A minimum of Grade XII;
  • Two (2) years of Support Services experience in a healthcare facility an asset;
  • Computer Knowledge in a Windows environment;
  • One (1) to two (2) years’ experience in receiving / supply chain related functions;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the operation of cleaning equipment; and
  • Ability to organize and establish priorities regarding workload.

Abilities and Skills:                                                            

  • Ability to communicate in both official languages (French and English) is required;
  • Demonstrated interpersonal relationship and communication skills with residents, families, and co-workers;
  • Ability to write in English clearly and neatly;
  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision;
  • Demonstrated ability to follow verbal and written instructions;
  • Flexible and capable of adapting to change;
  • Mental and physical health to meet the demands of the job;
  • Ability to demonstrate a satisfactory employment record, including attendance; and
  • Current Criminal Record Check for the Vulnerable sector and Adult Abuse Registry Check deemed satisfactory by the Employer.

This position is designated bilingual (French/English). All staff are hired for the facility. Employees may hold more than one position in different Actionmarguerite facilities, where the sum total of hours does not exceed 1.0 full-time equivalence.
