The Laundry Aide / Housekeeping Attendant is responsible for the sorting, laundering and distribution of residents’ personal clothes and linen. Is also responsible for carrying out the work procedures according to the Laundry standards and applicable work routine, the delivery of Housekeeping Services where applicable, by performing a variety of environmental activities, according to standards, to ensure a clean and safe environment and supports resident focused care and other related functions. The Laundry Aide / Housekeeping Attendant demonstrates a commitment to the vision, mission and values of Actionmarguerite.


Service and Assignment: Housekeeping and Laundry Services
Starting Date: February 22, 2026
Shift and Hours of Work: 0.8 FTE – part-time – days-  currently 7:15 – 15:30
Pay Scale: As per CUPE Collective Agreement

Required Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • A minimum Grade X;
  • Directly related experience in a long term / chronic care facility an asset; and
  • Working knowledge of sewing and floor washing machine and other related equipment.

Abilities and Skills:                                                            

  • Ability to communicate in both official languages (French and English) is required;
  • Demonstrated interpersonal relationship and communication skills with residents’ families, and co-workers;
  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision;
  • Demonstrated ability to follow verbal and written instructions;
  • Flexible and capable of adapting to change;
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a courteous manner;
  • Mental and physical health to meet the demands of the job;
  • Safety footwear is required;
  • Ability to demonstrate a satisfactory employment record, including attendance; and
  • Current Criminal Record Check for the Vulnerable sector and Adult Abuse Registry Check deemed satisfactory by the Employer.

Knowledge:

  • Workplace Health and Safety and safe work practices; and
  • W.H.M.I.S. program.
This position is designated bilingual (French/English). All staff are hired for the facility. Employees may hold more than one position in different Actionmarguerite facilities, where the sum total of hours does not exceed 1.0 full-time equivalence.
