Will Donations (Bequests)

Leaving a gift in your will, also known as a bequest, is one of the most meaningful ways to support us. It's a lasting expression of your care, compassion, and commitment that helps ensure your values continue to make a difference for future generations.

A bequest helps support residents, enhances person-directed living, and strengthens the Foundation's ability to meet emerging needs for years to come. Your estate will also receive a charitable tax receipt, which may help reduce estate taxes and capital gains.

In-Memory Gifts

A commemorative gift is a meaningful way to celebrate the life, legacy, or achievements of a friend, family member, or loved one. Whether you choose to make a memorial donation or establish a named trust fund in tribute to someone special, your generosity helps enhance the lives of the people we support at Actionmarguerite.

When you make a gift in memory or in honour of someone, Actionmarguerite will send a personalized acknowledgement card to the individual or family you designate. The amount of your donation will remain confidential unless you request otherwise.

Donating Equipment or Items

We are grateful for the generosity of community members and families who wish to donate wheelchairs, mobility equipment, furniture,  and other useful items. To ensure every donation is safe, appropriate, and truly beneficial, we follow a simple review and approval process.

How the Donation Process Works

1. Tell Us About Your Item
Before donating, please email marguerite@actionmarguerite.ca with information about the item you wish to donate. Including photos and a brief description of its condition is very helpful.
 

2. We'll Review the Need
Our team will consult with the appropriate department to determine whether the item meets a current need. This helps ensure donations directly support resident comfort, independence, and person-directed living. 
 

3. Safety & Condition Assessment
If the item is needed, we'll confirm that it meets our safety, accessibility, and quality standards. Items must be clean, in good working condition, and suitable for resident use. When required, we'll also arrange an assessment of the item's fair market value for charitable receipting.

4. Schedule a Drop-Off
Once your donation has been approved, we'll arrange a convenient drop-off time with you. Please note that we cannot accept items without prior approval.

5. Receive Your Tax Receipt
After the item has been received and its value confirmed, we'll issue a charitable tax receipt to acknowledge your generous contribution.

Donate Event Tickets or Admission Passes

Share the Gift of an Experience

Treat a member of the Actionmarguerite community to a special outing. Donated event tickets and admission passes create opportunities for joy, connection, and community belonging for residents, families, and volunteers.

We gratefully accept tickets to local sporting events, concerts, theatre performances, museums, festivals, and other community experiences.

If you're a season ticket holder and have seats you won't be using, consider donating them. Your tickets can provide a memorable experience for a resident or help recognize the dedicated volunteers who support our programs.

How to Donate Tickets

1. Contact the Foundation

Please contact us with the following information:

• Type of event or tickets
• Number of tickets available
• Event date and time
• Seating location and any accessibility details

2. We'll Coordinate the Details

Our team will determine how the tickets can best be used and coordinate the logistics needed to make the outing possible. Depending on the event, this may include arranging transportation and a companion to support the resident.

3. Confirmation

We'll confirm acceptance of your donation and make all necessary arrangements with you directly.
