We became aware today, December 2nd 2020, of a health-care worker at Actionmarguerite St. Boniface, 185 Despins, who tested positive for COVID-19.

The employee tested positive on December 2nd 2020 and has been self-isolating since November 30th. The employee worked days on November 23, 27 and 29 on 3ABC.

We have again had to declare an outbreak on the 3ABC until further notice. The period of communicability would be 48hrs prior to symptom onset. We have identified the need to complete contact tracing for those who worked with the employee from Nov 23 to November 29th.

All essential caregiver visits and general visits are suspended until at least December 10th, 2020, unless there are further cases.  Essential caregiver visits on 3ABC are suspended until December 17th 2020 unless there are further cases.  Updates will be provided on the web site if the situation evolves.

We will contact the 3ABC families to inform them of our risk assessment within the next 24 hours.   At this time we have assessed the risk to residents and other staff to be medium.

We will test residents who show any sign of symptoms. Families will be called if a resident is at risk or is tested at any time.

Please be assured that we continue to move quickly to enact precautions and implement- all procedures related to our pandemic plan.

I know this is frustrating, disappointing and concerning to all residents, families and staff.  Our goal remains to keep everyone safe and we thank you for your patience, understanding and cooperation.

If you have questions specific to the resident’s health condition, please contact the nursing staff on the unit. If you have any other questions or concerns, please email info@actionmarguerite.ca.
