In January 2018, Gisèle Ayotte, a resident of Actionmarguerite St. Vital, asked our Spiritual Care provider to assist her in writing a thank you note to staff as her ability to speak were diminishing.  The resident passed on January 4th, 2020, and, with the permission of the family, we are sharing this lasting message of compassion and gratitude.

Dear nurses, health care aids and all other Actionmarguerite employees,

I am writing you to thank you for the services that you offer me. Your help is very important in my life. I know that I can be difficult and that I complain a lot. Despite that, you are always good and kind to me. I am very touched by the fact that you take care of me without me ever needing to ask. You give me my meals, you do my laundry, you give me my medications, you help me with my day to day activities; all this in large part without me having to ask. In fact, I will never be able to fully express how I feel about all the things that you do for me. Every day, there is something new to thank you for. This is an “infinite” or an “endless” letter because there are too many things to thank you for and I am thankful for more than I could ever write.

I will never forget the care that you give me and I will never be able to thank you enough for everything that you do.
