The following is update #8 on the current COVID-19 resident outbreak at Actionmarguerite St. Boniface, 185 Despins.

Our total cases are now at 23.  One additional resident from 3DE was transferred to the COVID-19 area during the evening of February 26th (after update #7 was issued).

The total number of residents in the COVID-19 area is now at sixteen residents (16).  One (1) resident is in hospital.

Five (5) residents have recovered and returned to 3DE.  We remain at one (1) death.

Additional surveillance tests were taken today on both 3 DE and 2 DE.

We want to thank all our health and support workers, including our managers for their commitment, and dedication during this challenging time.

Essential Care Giver visits will remain suspended for the entire facility, up to and including March 8th, 2020.  We still consider our risk to additional exposure as high given the recent positive cases late last week.

Shelter visits will also remain suspended until March 8th inclusively.  Shelter visits can be scheduled starting March 9th, assuming there are no new cases.

We continue to appreciate your words of encouragement and of gratitude.  Please do not send any gifts of food for sharing between staff, as this continues to be a high risk to future spread.

Please do not hesitate to share your questions and concerns via email at info@actionmarguerite.ca.
