Germaine Boulet started coming to the Actionmarguerite adult day centre with her husband, Charles, four years ago. “We really liked coming to the day centre. It was something different, a change in our weekly routine. And it was an opportunity to spend a day in French, which made the experience even better. It’s not often that you get the chance to have activities like that, all in French!”
During winter 2018, Charles needed a long-term care facility. He lived at Actionmarguerite Saint-Boniface for eight months. “We already knew the residence and the staff. It was a familiar environment for him. He really enjoyed his time as a resident. He received good care and never complained about anything. I came to visit him every day and he was always happy.”
When he passed, Germaine chose to donate to Actionmarguerite. “We always appreciated Actionmarguerite. When we sold our house, I wanted to thank Actionmarguerite for taking good care of him during his stay.”
Now Germaine comes to the day centre on her own. “I was considering not coming back because I was alone, but I can’t seem to stay away! I like the staff and the activities they offer.”
