This update is to inform families that all Actionmarguerite sites will be implementing the Single Employer model for personal care homes as directed by the Provincial Public Health Authorities. We received this province-wide direction on April 27, 2020, with an implementation date of May 1, 2020.   This directive excludes allied health care professionals, staff who work in other parts of the health system, and supportive housing staff.

In collaboration with Shared Health Manitoba, the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority and all personal care homes in Winnipeg, we identified employees who hold multiple positions in different personal care homes. We are currently assigning them to one personal care home. This includes staff who hold multiple and/or casual positons at any of our three Actionmarguerite homes. The process of assignment and site selection was determined using provincial criteria with the goal of minimizing the impact on any personal care home.

We wish to recognize the cooperation and commitment of staff during this transition and thank them for picking up additional shifts to ensure that we do not work short. I personally want to thank our management, human resources and administrative staff for assembling all the information needed to proceed in making these changes. We will continue to ensure that we provide continuity of care and provide safe and compassionate care.

Our goal and our commitment are to minimize the impact on day-to-day operations and ensure that we continue to have a full complement of staff for every shift.
