The following is update #2 of the current COVID-19 resident outbreak at Actionmarguerite St. Boniface, 185 Despins.

We are sad to announce that we had our first resident death due to COVID-19. Our condolences to the resident’s family.

The total is number of residents in the COVID AREA 19 is now up to ten (10).  Nine (9) are from 3DE and one (1) from 2DE.

We have swabbed all residents on 3DE and 2DE.  We are waiting on 53 test results.  Families will be notified of the results as they come in.

All Essential Care Giver visits and Shelter Visits will be suspended up to and including February 22, 2021. This applies for the entire St. Boniface facility at 185 Despins. Only at end of life will exceptions be made.

The vaccination clinic at St. Boniface, has been re-scheduled for Wednesday, February 24, 2021.  A reminder that the postponement was due to a vaccine supply delivery delay due to a storm in the USA.  This has NOTHING to do with the current outbreak.

Staffing at this time remains stable and we are scheduling additional staffing as required.  We thank staff who agreed to work long shifts in our COVID Area as well as staff who are picking up extra shifts in order to support the care of the residents.

We will continue to provide updates as available.

We thank you for your understanding, your support and words of encouragement.  Please stay in contact with your love one by phone or virtually to the extent possible.

If you have any other questions or concerns, please email info@actionmarguerite.ca.
