The following is update #13 on the current COVID-19 resident outbreak at Actionmarguerite St. Boniface, 185 Despins.

As of today, all the residents who tested positive for the COVID-19 virus have returned to their rooms and considered recovered in accordance to the public health guidelines. Our Area-19 is currently closed.

All the residents on Units 2DE and 3DE will continue to be monitored for symptoms and tested if required.

We will continue support the post-recovery of the residents on 2DE and 3DE.  Pending no new cases, the target date to declare this outbreak over is March 29, 2021.

In total, we have had 25 residents who tested positive and sadly three residents passed away.  There were a total of four (4) staff affected, of which two (2) remain active.

We may conduct surveillance testing of residents on these units, based on the advice of our physicians and public health.  We also provide asymptomatic clinics (rapid tests) for staff as additional precautionary measures.

Essential Care Giver visits resumed this week and will continue, Monday to Friday from 11AM to 2PM.  General visits in the assigned shelters can also be scheduled.

Essential Care Givers are reminded that the entire facility is still considered RED – Critical.  Essential Caregiver visitors must also accept total responsibility and follow all infection control and PPE requirements.  They also need to be aware that they are entering a facility / unit that is in a COVID-19 outbreak status.
