The following is update #12 on the current COVID-19 resident outbreak at Actionmarguerite St. Boniface, 185 Despins.
We are saddened to announce the third (3rd) death of a resident. On behalf of the staff, we offer our prayers and condolences to the resident’s family, friends, and caregivers.
Yesterday, we conducted additional surveillance on all non COVID infected or recovered residents on 3DE. All of the 14 tests were confirmed to be negative today. We have also transferred six recovered residents out of Area 19 since our last update.
The total number of residents in Area 19 is now four (4). Eighteen (18) residents have recovered and returned to their units.
We have had three (3) COVID related deaths since the start of the outbreak.
Our total number of COVID-19 cases remain at 25.
Essential Care Giver Visits :
The re-opening of 3DE to essential care givers will continue to be determined based on resident need and require additional precautions required. Essential Caregivers from 3DE will be given special instructions prior to visiting the unit.
We continue to gradually re-open to Essential Caregiver and Shelter visits. Subject to no new cases, essential caregivers visits are progressively starting as follows:
- Tuesday, March 9th, 2021 – Essential Caregivers of residents on 2ABC and 4ABC.
- Wednesday, March 10, 2021 – Essential Caregivers of residents on 3ABC and 5ABC.
- Thursday, March 11th2021 – Essential Caregivers of residents on 2DE and 4DE
PLEASE remember that the entire facility is considered RED – Critical. Essential Caregiver visitors must also accept total responsibility and follow all infection control and PPE requirements. They also need to be aware that they are entering a facility / unit that is in a COVID-19 outbreak status.
