We became aware at 1:30 PM today, December 5th 2020, of a resident on Unit 2 at Actionmarguerite
St. Joseph, 1149 Leila, who received a COVID-19 positive test.
We have declared an outbreak on Unit 2. We have isolated and placed ALL residents of Unit 2 on precautions, swabbed ALL residents on Unit 2 and implemented all infection control protocols.
The resident confirmed COVID positive has been moved to the Area-19 COVID Care Unit (the chapel) as per our pandemic response plan. Staffing has been assigned and will be scheduled accordingly in order to reduce all risk of infection. We will be contacting families on the unit as well to advise them of the results of the swabs.
It is important to note that this outbreak is not related to the December 4th communication where we disclosed that an Essential Caregiver had tested positive. We had not identified the home. We are confirming that the essential caregiver was NOT from Actionmarguerite St. Joseph.
Our contact tracing and risk assessment continues. Until that is compete, we consider the risk to be MEDIUM for all of Unit 2. We are taking all precautions to avoid further spread of the virus.
Know that we have responded quickly to enact precautions and implement all procedures related to our pandemic plan.
I know this is troubling and concerning to all residents, families and staff. All essential caregiver visits are suspended until further notice. We will be providing you updates and would ask that you pray for the safety of all our residents and staff.
Rest assured that the staff will keep you abreast of any changes in your loved one’s health condition. If you have any other questions or concerns, please email email@example.com.
